Bruno Mars & Disney Studios Team Up For A Music Theatrical Film

Singer Bruno Mars is getting into the movie business. After a series of discussions that have gone on for months, Disney has made a deal with Bruno Mars to develop a music-themed theatrical feature film that Mars will star in and produce.

Plot details have not been revealed but it is known that the film will consist of mostly original music that Mars will create and perform. Integral in the Mars deal was Mitchell Leib, who heads music for the film group. It was Leib who began talks with Mars a few months ago which led to this deal taking place. The next step will be to set a writer or writer-director to turn the idea into a feature film.

Bruno Mars is one of the most celebrated artists working in the music business today. He has won 11 Grammy Awards in 27 nominations and has sold over 200 million singles worldwide, establishing him as one of the bestselling artists of all time. He swept the 60th Grammy Awards, winning six trophies including the “Big 3” — Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year. Mars is also a two-time Super Bowl halftime performer and has had more No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 than any other male artist this decade.
