Disney’s streaming service is sure to be a game charger upon its release and the mouse company may have revealed the service’s name. In a report on Friday, Variety stated that Disney CEO Bob Iger refers to the upcoming platform as “Disney Play.” Iger also stated that the streaming service will be one of Disney’s top priorities in 2019.
Along with the name of the service, it was also released that the service will be priced under the 8014 dollar range that Netflix currently charges. Iger recently stated,
“We have the luxury of programming this product with programs from those brands or derived from those brands, which obviously creates a demand and gives us the ability to not necessarily be in the volume game, but to be in the quality game”
The end of 2018 and 2019 is sure to be an important one for the company as Disney is in the midst of closing a deal for 21st Century Fox. Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar look to be the focal point of the companies streaming service.
