Brie Larson Says The Marvel Girl-Gang Has Told Kevin Feige They Want An All-Female Marvel Movie

Internet trolls love to hate Brie Larson. She’s unapologetically outspoke and she doesn’t seem to care what anyone thinks about her opinions. I for one respect her because she doesn’t let the anonymous folks of the internet get her down and continues to live in her truth. I suspect internet trolls will come down on her latest statements about an all-female led Marvel film, a project the women of Marvel have told Marvel boss, Kevin Feige, they really want.

Larson, along with her Marvel co-stars, have had talks with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige about making an all-female led film a reality. “I will say that a lot of the female cast members from Marvel walked up to Kevin and we were like, ‘We are in this together, we want to do this,’” Larson replied. “What that means, I have no idea. You know, I’m not in charge of the future of Marvel, but it is something that we’re really passionate about and we love and I feel like if enough people out in the world talk about how much they want it, maybe it’ll happen.”

Discussions amongst fans about an all-female led Marvel film was sparked by one of the many money shot scenes in Avengers: Endgame. The scene in question featured the women of Marvel, arguably more powerful than their male counterparts, banding together in a moment to clear a path for Larson’s Captain Marvel to get the Infinity Gauntlet away from Thanos. The scene really did feel like a moment and while one could argue it was a bit of female fan service, it was still a powerful scene that has become a bit of a fan favorite.

Marvel has expressed interest in an all-female led film even before the epic scene was shot for Endgame. Feige himself has said that he’s interested in the female Marvel film, though no firm plans to green-light such a project have been set. A Black Widow film is due next year featuring Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff and Larson is on board for Captain Marvel 2, following up the $1 billion success of the first film. Thor: Love & Thunder will also feature Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster as a female Thor of sorts along with featuring Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie. All the ingredients are there for a female team-up so maybe some serious thought should go into making it happen.
