Bohemian Rhapsody Rocks Its Way To $3.9 Million In Thursday Night Previews

Bohemian Rhapsody began its concert tour at the box office last night and got off to a stellar start.

Bohemian Rhapsody sang its way to $3.9 million in Thursday night previews which began at 7 PM. Compared to other musical-themed films, Bohemian Rhapsody beat Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again which made $3.4 million on its Thursday before a $14.2 million Friday, and $34.95 million opening back in July. The biopic also came in higher than A Star Is Born which grossed $3.2 million in its Thursday night previews and that led to a $15.6 million Friday and $42.9 million opening weekend last month. With this Thursday start, my $40 million prediction for Bohemian Rhapsody seems like a sure bet.

The Thursday preview numbers for The Nutcracker and the Four Realms were not available but Tyler Perry’s Nobody’s Fool earned $600,000 in previews and a $16-17 million opening still seems likely, a solid start for a film that cost only $19 million to make.
