Spider-Man: Far From Home Becomes First Spider-Man Film To Gross $1 Billion Worldwide

Spider-Man: Far From Home is swinging high at the box office. After becoming the highest-grossing Spider-Man film at the worldwide box office days ago, Spidey has achieved another milestone as well.

Far From Home has swung past the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office which is the first time a Spider-Man film has done so. The movie accomplished the goal today as its domestic tally hit $333 million and its overseas total hit $672 million for a worldwide total of $1.005 billion. This is also the third Marvel movie of the year to soar to these heights after Captain Marvel ($1.13 billion) and Avengers: Endgame ($2.79 billion). It has been a year of achievements for Marvel with Endgame having topped Avatar as the highest-grossing film at the worldwide box office over the weekend.

Far From Home is also the second Sony film to hit $1 billion with Skyfall topping their ranks with $1.1 billion. Spider-Man: Homecoming, which revived the Spider-Man franchise back in 2017, grossed $880 million at the worldwide box office.
