Big Sky Earns Full Season Order At ABC

Network TV doesn’t have a lot of winners lately when it comes to scripted programming but ABCC has really scored with David E. Kelley’s Big Sky. The show has received solid reviews & the ending of its pilot episode had EVERYONE talking that tuned in. Thanks to its early ratings success, ABC had picked up a full season of Big Sky with six additional episodes ordered. This will bring its count to 16 episodes by the end of its current season.

The crime thriller was the network’s first new scripted series of the season to launch & it has performed solidly since its debut on November 17. After 7 days of viewing across live & digital platforms, the show scored 10.8 million viewers & a 2.5 rating in adults 18-49. This makes it the highest-rated ABC debut since The Rookie in October of 2018. The second episode also held 100% of its premiere rating among the same demo & increased its numbers in total viewers as well.

Big Sky is based on C.J. Box’s book & follows private detective Cassie Dewell and ex-cop Jenny Hoyt who join forces to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. So they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area & they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken. The series stars Kylie Bunbury, Katheryn Winnick, Ryan Philippe, John Carroll Lynch, Brian Geraghty, Dedee Pfeiffer, Natalie Alyn Lind, Jade Pettyjohn, Jesse James Keitel, & Valerie Mahaffey.
