Amazon Studios has released the first trailer for Beautiful Boy & it looks like it may be an Oscar contender.

The film is the harrowing true chronicle of addiction first depicted in the bestselling father-son memoirs by David & Nic Sheff. The film version stars Steve Carell & Timothee Chalamet as David & Nic, respectively.

Beautiful Boy hits screens on October 12.
