Batwoman & Supergirl Dip On Sunday Night On The CW

While in line with last season’s Sunday averages for the network, Batwoman, and Supergirl came down in their second airings on the night.

On The CW, Batwoman dropped from its premiere’s 0.5 demo rating to a 0.3 demo score and 1.45 million viewers. Supergirl took a similar hit, slipping from a 0.4 demo score to a 0.3 demo rating and 970,000 viewers as well. Despite the dip, this is the demo average on the night for The CW last season so the night is still in good shape but any more dips could be troubling moving forward.

On Fox, the lineup didn’t have an NFL assist so all of their series were down week to week. Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy posted matching 0.7s – even with their season premieres from two weeks ago with 1.64 and 1.82 million viewers respectively. The same could not be said for The Simpsons (0.8, 2.13 million viewers) and Bless the Harts (0.7, 1.47 million viewers), both of which came in a tenth below their premieres.

On ABC, Kids Say the Darndest Things scored a 0.8 rating in the adults 18-49 demo and 4.86 million viewers, down just a tenth from the 0.9 that its series premiere scored last Sunday. Its lead-in, America’s Funniest Home Videos, went the other way though, ticking up from its previous 0.6 demo score to a 0.7 demo rating and 5.07 million viewers,. Shark Tank (0.6, 3.56 million viewers) down from its rating from a week ago. The Rookie ended the night and maintained a 0.6  demo rating and 3.60 million viewers for the second week in a row.

On CBS, their lineup benefitted from a late-afternoon NFL overrun. 60 Minutes posted a high 2.1 rating with 7.37 million viewers, while God Friended Me (0.9, 6.89 million viewers) and NCIS: Los Angeles (0.8, 6.63 million viewers) both rose from their last outings and tied their NFL-boosted season premieres from the night of September 29. Madam Secretary was steady with a 0.5 demo rating and 4.51 million viewers.

Not much to recap with Sunday ratings this week but I will say that ABC’s lineup seems very healthy, especially since it’s mostly cheaper non-scripted programming and The CW, while still taking a dip, is still in line with last season’s averages on the night so no cause for concern just yet.
