Bad Moms Spinoff, Bad Moms’ Moms In The Works At STX

STX Boss Adam Fogelson’s presentation at CinemaCon ended today with the announcement that a Bad Moms spinoff is in the works at STX.

Bad Moms’ Moms will star A Bad Moms Christmas‘ Cheryl Hines, Susan Sarandon and Christine Baranski, reprising their roles from the sequel to Bad Mom’ in which they played they moms to Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and Kathryn Hahn respectively. No word as of yet if the daughters will make an appearance in the spinoff.

Bad Moms and A Bad Moms Christmas directors and writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore are also involved on Bad Moms’ Moms. The first film was a surprise hit back in 2016 $113.2 million on a $20 million budget. The film ultimately grossed $183.9 million worldwide. The sequel, A Bad Moms Christmas, was released just over a year later and while it wasn’t as successful, it still grossed $72.1 million at the domestic box office on a $28 million budget.
