During a time when the pandemic has made this a fall TV season that is a bit unprecedented, networks have to take wins where they can. CBS is doing just that with the Chuck Lorre-created comedy, B Positive. The new series has received a full-season order at the network
The show will get an additional five episodes added to its tally which will bring its episode count to 18. B Positive was the first new CBS show to debut as part of the 2020/21 broadcast season and it is the second show of the unusual season to receive a backorder, following ABC’s Big Sky. The series airs as part of CBS’s Thursday comedy slate alongside Young Sheldon and Mom and has performed relatively well, keeping its audience across its five episodes. B Positive returns with new episodes on January 7.
Starring Thomas Middleditch and Annaleigh Ashford, B Positive follows a therapist and newly divorced dad (Middleditch) who is faced with finding a kidney donor when he runs into a rough-around-the-edges woman from his past (Ashford) who volunteers her own. Together they form an unlikely bond and begin a journey that will change both of their lives. The series also stars Izzy G, Sara Rue, Kether Donohue, and Terrence Terrell.
