The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been dominating the headlines in 2018. With the release of Black Panther in February and the release of the Infinity War trailer, Marvel is on top of the world. The latest news comes from the the Infinity War trailer as it is been revealed as the third biggest debut of all time for a trailer.
The second trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was viewed 179 million times in its first 24 hours, becoming the third-biggest trailer release in history, according to Disney and Marvel Studios. Along with that, the trailer is also the biggest release ever for a second trailer, surpassing 2017’s Beauty and the Beast.
The day the trailer was released also lead to pre-sale tickets for the film being released. With that being said, Infinity War has become AMC’s biggest-selling superhero movie after 72 hours, more than tripling the record held by fellow Marvel movie Black Panther, which opened in February. It took just six hours for Infinity War to become ticket seller Fandango’s fastest-selling superhero movie in the first 24 hours.
Avengers: Infinity War opens April 27.
