Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time has found its lead in child actress, Storm Reid.
Reid (12 Years a Slave) will play Meg Murry in Disney’s upcoming adaptation of the beloved children’s book by Madeleine L’Engle. Written by Frozen‘s Jennifer Lee, A Wrinkle in Time tells the story of Meg Murry, a rambunctious girl who goes on a journey to find her missing father, a government scientist, after working on a mysterious project called a tesseract. She’s aided by her brother and classmate along the journey, encountering many celestial creatures, like the three Mrs. W’s and Aunt Beast.
DuVernay also confirmed on her Twitter last night that Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling have joined the film as the three Mrs. W’s – Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit, and Mrs. Who.
