Arrow & The 100 Spinoffs Still In Contention At The CW

Despite not appearing on The CW’s newly released schedule for the Fall and 2021, Spinoffs of Arrow and The 100 are still very much in contention.

The CW President and CEO Mark Pedowitz commented on both projects and says “they are very much alive.”:

“They are very much in active discussions to see what we can do. I’ve had many discussions with Warner Bros, we have a strategy involved, hopefully we can pull it off.”

Some fans hoping to see these spinoffs go to series were worried when The CW handed out show orders to the Kung Fu reboot and The Republic of Sarah while not doing the same for the spinoffs. It looks like The CW has mapped out a tentative schedule for the fall and beyond and is still working out a strategy to see how to fit these shows in. This at least indicates that The CW is behind the series’ and is doing what they can to make it all work out.

The 100 prequel, which is currently untitled, will start as a backdoor pilot in the seventh and final season of The CW drama which is set to air soon. The series is set 97 years before the events of the original show and it starts with the end of the world as a nuclear apocalypse wipes out most of the human population on Earth — and follows a band of survivors on the ground as they learn to cope in a dangerous world while fighting to create a new and better society from the ashes of what came before. The series is set to star Iola Evans, Adain Bradley, and Leo Howard.

Arrow’s planted spinoff aired in the January 21 episode of The CW series, which wrapped its eight-season run. The episode featured Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy, and Juliana Harkavy and was titled “Green Arrow and the Canaries”. It was set in 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen (McNamara) had everything she could have ever wanted. However, when Laurel (Cassidy) and Dinah (Harkavy) suddenly shows up in her life again, things took a shocking turn, and her perfect world is upended.
