It was a bittersweet time for Arrow at San Diego Comic-Con this year. As they celebrated their return for season 8, it’s also their swan song as we know it at the con because season 8 will also be its last. The panel brought along a series retrospective video and a bit of a look at the upcoming eighth and final season.
Perhaps the biggest news from the Arrow panel came courtesy of Brandon Routh who will play Superman once again during an appearance on Arrow this season. Routh played the role in the 2006 Superman Returns and is currently a part of the Arrowverse family on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
At the center of the panel is Stephen Amell, who has always been an appreciative fixture at the event. Amell had to hold back tears when his fellow cast members took turns paying tribute to the hard-working star of the superhero series that is responsible for building a whole superhero universe on The CW.
Arrow will certainly be missed but he will defend his city once more when the series returns for its eighth and final season on October 15 on The CW.
