American Horror Story Season 7 To Tackle 2016 Presidential Election

American Horror Story is about to get real meta for its seventh season. Ryan Murphy has confirmed they will take on the 2016 presidential election for the upcoming season.

Murphy made the announcement during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Murphy said:

“Well I don’t have a title, but the season we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through. So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people”.

Last season’s theme for Roanoke was kept in secrecy up until the premiere, surprising fans with twists and turns along the way. Its finale saw an almost 10% rise in total viewers and 18% jump among adults 18-49 from the finale of AHS: Hotel with an audience of 2.45 million and a 1.3 rating. The series also was renewed for an eighth and ninth season.
