American Horror Story: Apocalypse Premiere Gives FX A Ratings Win

American Horror Story: Apocalypse premiered last Wednesday and it was easily the top cable show for Wednesday night, even though it was down from last season’s premiere.

The premiere scored a 1.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.08 million viewers – five-tenths lower than the 2.0 that American Horror Story: Cult premiered with last year. However, in addition to its 1.5 being triple the ratings of any of its Wednesday cable competition, it was also up five-tenths from the Cult season finale so these numbers are quite encouraging for the eighth season moving forward.

The new season of American Horror Story features the long-awaited crossover between Murder House and Coven. The premiere hinted at the crossover but it wasn’t the focus of the episode so I think once the crossover really kicks in, we’ll probably see an uptick in the numbers.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse airs Wednesdays on FX
