TBS is sticking with American Dad! It has been announced that the network has given a two-season renewal to the long-running Seth McFarlane animated comedy.
American Dad!, which is set to celebrate its 300th episode this year, has steadily been a consistent ratings performer. The series ranks as a top 5 cable comedy, with the current season reaching an audience of nearly 18 million viewers across all TBS platforms, according to Nielsen. Brett Weitz, General Manager for TNT, TBS, & truTV had this to say about the renewal:
“American Dad! has achieved an incredible milestone. Matt Weizmann and Brian Boyle are brilliant writers who consistently overdeliver on big comedy and even bigger absurdity. We look forward to continuing the momentum by giving devoted fans two more seasons of the Smith family.”
American Dad!, which began its life on Fox where MacFarlane’s other hit series, Family Guy, still resides, centers on super-patriotic CIA agent Stan Smith (voiced by MacFarlane) and the misadventures of his unconventional family in Langley Falls, VA.
