Alamo Drafthouse to Open L.A. Theater

The Alamo Drafthouse is hitting La La Land.

The Austin, Texas-based theater chain is making the move to the city the city of stars and make home at The Bloc in downtown L.A., which is currently in the middle of $180 million renovations being headed by The Ratkovich Company.

The Alamo Draft house is the essential location to watch films in 2017. First discovering it in 2016, It was one of the fan friendliest locations I’ve personally been to and glad to see the chains expansion.

Alamo’s LA location will be the 28th theater opened which includes locations such as  New York City, Phoenix, Dallas and San Francisco.

The theater is projected to open in 2018, taking up the second and third floors in the southwest corner of the mixed-use open air space, aA locally sourced food menu will be offered in theaters, along with a selection of local craft beers and cocktails. Founder of the Alamo, Tim League commented,

“When we announced seven years ago that we would be embarking upon a plan of nationwide expansion, my primary goal was to open a theater in Los Angeles,” After many years of exhaustive searching and planning, we feel we have found the perfect home at The Bloc.”
