ABC Officially Passes On Sci-Fi Pilot Triangle

As premiere week is set to kickoff, ABC has officially passed on a pilot that they were once very high on.

ABC has given a formal pass to the Jon Harmon Feldman and Jennifer Gwartz’s sci-fi drama Triangle. The final decision wasn’t made during Upfronts back in May because ABC programming chief Karey Burke wanted to see the finished pilot, which was shot in New Zealand and was very special effects-driven. The network was high on the concept but apparently the execution wasn’t exactly what they wanted.

Triangle starred Mike Vogel and was originally ordered back in January but had a late international shoot with a lot of editing. On the series, the question was asked what if the Bermuda Triangle was not a watery grave in the middle of the ocean but a land lost in time that has trapped travelers over the course of human history? When a family is shipwrecked in this strange land, they must band together with a group of like-minded inhabitants — from throughout history — to survive and somehow find a way home. Vogel was set to play David Roman, an orphan who bounced between foster homes, who was making a new life with his daughter and fiancé when their ship capsizes on a tropical getaway.
