68th Primetime Emmy Awards Hit Low In The Ratings

The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards were generally well received with Jimmy Kimmel hitting all the right notes as host for his second time around yet television’s biggest night took a hit in the ratings.

The broadcast had to face off against Sunday Night Football and as a result hit a 8.4/13 in the metered markets across the three-hour telecast. This is down 3% from last year and while small, the decline does make the 68th Primetime Emmys the lowest rated ever in early numbers.

Broadcast on Fox last year, the Andy Samberg hosted September 20 2015 Emmys went on to snag a 3.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 11.9 million total viewers – also an all-time low.
