World Of Dance Renewed For Third Season Ahead Of Season Two Premiere At NBC

NBC is getting its dancing shoes ready early this year. Weeks ahead of its season two premiere, the network has renewed World of Dance for a third season.

The series, which premiered last year as the most-watched new summer alternative series in a decade, lets dancers showcase their talents and compete for a million-dollar grand prize. Executive producer Jennifer Lopez leads a judging team that also includes Derek Hough, Ne-Yo and host/mentor Jenna Dewan.

Last year’s first season of World of Dance averaged a 2.6 rating in adults 18-49 and 10.1 million viewers in Live+seven day. That made it the No. 1 new summer show in the demo and total viewers and No. 2 summer show broadcast TV in both categories behind only America’s Got Talent. Season 2 will premiere at 10 PM on Tuesday, May 29, following the season premiere of America’s Got Talent.
