Will & Grace Season Premiere Up From Season Finale In 18-49 Demo

Will & Grace premiered the second season of its revival and the show came in a smidge higher than its finale numbers from last season.

On NBC, Will & Grace premiered with a 1.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demo and 3.94 million viewers, up one-tenth from its season finale back in April, but obviously down from how it was performing this time last year (back when it didn’t have to directly compete with CBS’ comedies).

Superstore began the night for NBC and returned with a 0.9 demo rating and 3.17 million viewers, similarly up from its season finale earlier this year (0.8), but down four-tenths from its season 3 premiere (1.3). The Good Place followed its Superstore lead-in with a 0.9 demo score and 2.97 million viewers, falling a tenth from its hour-long premiere the week before. The time-period premiere of I Feel Bad raked in a 0.7 demo rating and 2.63 million viewers, losing two-tenths and over a million viewers from its Will & Grace lead-in, while Law & Order: SVU (1.0, 4.20 million viewers) won the 10 p.m. hour, despite falling a tenth week-to-week.

On ABC, Grey’s Anatomy (1.6, 6.53 million viewers) experienced a predictable post-premiere drop with its second week, down three-tenths from its premiere’s 1.9, while How to Get Away with Murder scored a 0.8 demo score and 3.06 million viewers for the second week in a row. The season 2 premiere of Station 19, however, lost five-tenths of its Grey’s lead-in and posted a 1.1 demo rating and 5.22 million viewers, up a tenth from its season finale in May, and even with its first season average.

On CBS, The Big Bang Theory (2.2, 12 million viewers)  was steady with what it had scored a week ago, as was Mom (1.3, 7.94 million viewers). Additionally, Young Sheldon (1.8, 10.59 million viewers) managed to tick up two-tenths from last Thursday, while Murphy Brown (1.0, 7.17 million viewers) lost only a tenth in its second week. S.W.A.T (0.7, 5.25 million viewers) stayed low but steady.
