After a few images leaked online, Sony Pictures have gotten ahead of more leaks by releasing the official trailer for Venom online a bit earlier than anticipated and we are getting a clearer glimpse of Tom Hardy as one of Marvel’s favorite anti-heroes.
As promised by Tom Hardy, the trailer was officially released at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Many thought the trailer would be online early this morning but the trailer was released last night, likely due to various leaked images that hit the web.
Hardy will star in the new movie alongside Jenny Slate, Michelle Williams, and Riz Ahmed, in a storyline loosely based on the ’90s Lethal Protector miniseries from Marvel Comics. Although Sony is producing, it’s still unclear whether or not the film will actually be a part of the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe, with rumors flying about Tom Holland’s supposed involvement. This isn’t hard evidence but he is listed on the film’s cast list on the IMDB page but we know how these rumors can get ahead of themselves.
Venom hits screens on October 5.
