It’s Aliens meets The Abyss in the first trailer for Underwater, starring Kristen Stewart.
The film follows a crew of underwater researchers who must scramble to safety after an earthquake devastates their subterranean laboratory. It becomes clear after the devastation that something has awakened. The film also stars T.J. Miller, Vincent Cassel, and John Gallagher Jr.
Helming Underwater is William Eubank, who directed the under the radar but very good sci-fi horror film, The Signal. With Eubank on this film, it looks to be more than a run of the mill sci-fi thriller.
