TV Show Based On The Film Vantage Point In The Works At NBC

NBC is developing a television series based on the 2008 movie Vantage Point.  The TV adaptation comes from the film’s writer, Barry Levy, and producer, Neil H. Moriz via his Original Film banner.

The television version will be a character-driven thriller much like the film. In the movie, which starred Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox, Forest Whitaker, William Hurt, and Sigourney Weaver, an assassination attempt on the President of the United States is seen through the vantage points of different characters as they each try to prevent the deadly act from happening. Here is how the TV show is officially being described:

“In the age of fake news, the truth can seem inadequate at best and skewed at worst. By embracing a multitude of different perspectives – ranging from government operatives to civilian informants to innocent bystanders – viewers will find themselves in the unique position of deciding what actually happened.”

Vantage Point actually made a nice amount of money back in 2008. Made for $40 million, the film went on to gross $152 million worldwide. That seems like a solid enough gross for a standard procedural version to work on NBC.
