Top Gun: Maverick Set To Land At San Diego Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con will feel the need for speed! It has been announced that Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media will be flying in with Top Gun: Maverick to make some kind of presence at the popular San Diego convention.

According to “Deadline”, their sources say that the cast from the film are already booking hotels and tickets and while Tom Cruise isn’t officially confirmed, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he also made an appearance to excite the crowd.

It would be a bit of a homecoming for the Top Gun sequel since the film shot in San Diego last summer. Yesterday, during CineEurope, attendees in Barcelona were the first to see two minutes of footage from the film, which opens on June 26, 2020.

Paramount Pictures was one of the first major studios to really make a presence at San Diego Comic-Con. Back when the studio was behind Iron Man & Thor before their rights transitioned, they used the fanboy event as a major promotional tool.

The last time Paramount and Skydance made an appearance at Comic-Con was with the 2016 movie Star Trek: Beyond which made its world premiere there with an outdoor screening accompanied by the film’s talent and a live orchestra playing the score throughout the movie.
