Tom Ellis Finalizes Deal To Return For Potential Sixth Season Of Lucifer

I’m starting to believe that Lucifer made an actual deal with the devil because it’s a show forged in fire that refuses to die. Originally beginning its life on Fox, the series was canceled after three seasons, which made its fans raise all kinds of hell and the blaze with so strong, Netflix swooped in and saved the day back in June of 2018. The 10-episode fourth season proved to be even more popular on the streamer than it was during its run on Fox which made renewing it for a fifth season a no-brainer except with that news came the caveat that it would be the final run of the series. Fans again ignited the internet with fire and brimstone, although the powers that be said they intended on telling a five season story and they were happy to get 16 more episodes to do it.

Fast forward to earlier this month and suddenly Netflix is in talks with Warner Bro’s. Television for a potential sixth season and now comes news that, with this potential sixth season, Lucifer himself, Tom Ellis, has finalized a deal to return for season 6, if it should happen. Co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich & Joe Henderson also inked new deals for a sixth season with many, if not all, of the other acting talent having existing deals that should secure their season 6 participation.

I have to respect the vocal fan love for this series because it’s actually what got me to start watching show. It’s a highly entertaining procedural showcase that balances supernatural elements, chemistry amongst its leads and is capably led by a devilishly good Tom Eillis. Once I got through the first two seasons, I then understood why the fans were so devoted to it. If there is a creatively viable reason for Lucifer to get a sixth season, I’m all for it.

Lucifer, which also stars Lauren German, D.B. Woodside, Tricia Helfer, & Inbar Lavi, is wrapping up production on its fifth season which will consist of 16 episodes that will split into 8 separate blocks to stream on Netflix.
