The Witcher Renewed For Season 2 Ahead Of Its Series Premiere At Netflix

In a show of early confidence, Netflix has given an early season two renewal to its series, The Witcher, ahead of its series premiere in a few weeks.

The Witcher, starring Henry Cavill, will debut all eight episodes of Season 1 globally on December 20. The series is based on the namesake fantasy novels, though the brand is widely known through the bestselling video game franchise. Here is the official synopsis from Netflix:

The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. The story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.”

The Witcher is being described as Netflix’s aim to premiere a Game of Thrones-style show in its scope. The streamer seems confident enough in it to give it an early season two renewal so they may have a fantasy show hit on their hands.

The Witcher begins streaming on Netflix on December 20. Check out the official trailer below.
