The Rookie Continues Its Steady Performance On Sunday Night At ABC

Moving The Rookie from Tuesdays to Sunday night this season has proven to be the right move for ABC. The series, recently given a full-season order for its second season, continues to be a steady performer on its new night.

On ABC, The Rookie registered its fourth straight 0.6 demo rating in the 18-49 demo. The demo score is giving the network a much-improved performance in the 10:00 PM timeslot on Sunday and shows that the audience is sticking with it. A total of 3.19 million viewers tuned in to watch the procedural drama on Sunday. ABC was relatively steady for the whole night with the lone exception of Shark Tank. Kids Say the Darndest Things scored the same 0.6 rating in adults 18-49 as it did a week ago with 3.24 million viewers. Shark Tank took a dip to a 0.5 demo rating and 2.84 million viewers, down a tenth week-to-week.

On CBS, their entire lineup was boosted by the NFL lead-in with God Friended Me (0.9, 6.74 million viewers) and Madam Secretary (0.5, 4.62 million viewers) coming in even with their last NFL-boosted outings, while NCIS: Los Angeles (0.7, 5.98 million viewers) came in a tenth below its 0.8 rating from 2 weeks ago.

On Fox, despite dominating the primetime ratings throughout the entire week up to this point, FOX’s broadcast of game 5 of this year’s World Series was not the night’s no. 1 broadcast. Pending updates, the game averaged a 2.4 rating with 10.22 million viewers, back up from the 2.1 preliminary rating and 9.65 million viewer audience that Game 4 scored Saturday night. Game 5 was topped by NBC’s coverage of the Sunday Night Football game between Green Bay and Kansas City, which posted a 5.1 average rating with 16.19 million viewers.

On The CW, Batwoman (0.3, 1.26 million viewers) and Supergirl (0.2, 980,000 viewers) both matched their ratings from last Sunday.

Recapping Sunday ratings, ABC has to be happy with the steady performance of The Rookie while it’s nice to see The CW lineup remain steady as well.
