May 4th is only a week away and Disney+ has quite the gift for Star Wars fans. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is hitting Disney+ two months early on May the 4th, just in the time for Star Wars Day (“May the Fourth be with you”). With this premiere, all nine films in the Skywalker Saga will be available to watch on Disney+. May 4th will also see the premieres of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian and the final episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Disney was originally going to add Rise in July but given current programming changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to give fans a treat two months earlier. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released in theaters on December 20th, and made more than a billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Additionally, The Rise of Skywalker has been the No. 1 home entertainment title (Blu-ray, electronic sell-thru, digital rental) in the U.S. over the past four weeks, per weekly stats from the Digital Entertainment Group.
