The Masked Singer Returns To Claim Its Wednesday Night Crown At Fox

After taking some time off due to the World Series, The Masked Singer returned on Wednesday night and was the clear winner of the night across all networks by a wide margin.

On Fox, airing back-to-back episodes, the FOX reality-competition series won the night with a pair of 2.0 ratings in the adults 18-49 demo and averaged 7.1 million viewers across the two episodes. That puts The Masked Singer down two-tenths from the 2.2 rating that its last Wednesday broadcast scored and ties it with its current series low in the demo, but it still scored well above any of the night’s other broadcasts and it’s a demo number that any of the networks would want right about now. Outside of football, The Masked Singer is leading programming in the demo across all the networks on any given night.

On ABC, it was a mostly steady night for the network with The Goldbergs (0.9, 4.22 million viewers), Schooled (0.7, 3.19 million viewers), Single Parents (0.6, 2.64 million viewers), and Stumptown (0.5, 2.83 million viewers) all staying even with their last episodes. Modern Family suffered the network’s only downtick, slipping from its 1.0 last Wednesday to a 0.9 demo rating and 3.93 million viewers this time around.

On NBC, Chicago Med (1.1, 8.03 million viewers) and Chicago P.D. (1.0, 6.44 million viewers) each ticked down a tenth from their last outings. Chicago Fire took a slightly worse hit, falling from its previous 1.2 to a 1.0 demo score and 7.64 million viewers. The three Chicago dramas still carried NBC to a narrow total viewers victory over the other networks, with Med pulling in the night’s largest audience (8.03 million viewers).

On CBS, Survivor ticked up a bit week-to-week, from its previous 1.2 to a 1.3 demo rating and 6.80 million viewers, while SEAL Team (0.6, 4.52 million viewers) and S.W.A.T. (0.5, 3.84 million viewers) both matched their ratings from a week ago.

On The CW, Riverdale held steady another 0.2 demo score and 800,000 viewers while Nancy Drew also stayed steady week to week with a 0.1 demo score and 630,000 viewers.
