A new The Lion King trailer has been unveiled since we’re 100 days away from its release & it’s time to get all the feels.
The first full trailer for The Lion King debuted today, and it reveals the updated versions of a number of key characters from the original classic, including Mufasa, voiced again by James Earl Jones; Scar, voiced by Chiwetel Ejiofor; and Zazu, voiced by John Oliver. The footage also includes our first glimpse at Timon and Pumbaa, voiced by Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen, respectively.
The trailer is visually stunning, as expected, and unlike the initial teaser, actually shows the animals speaking. The effect resembles director Jon Favreau’s previous Disney live-action remake, The Jungle Book. Several main voices aren’t included here, though, including Donald Glover as Simba and BeyoncĂ© as Nala. Oliver’s Zazu voice also hasn’t been featured in either of the trailers, though the character does make an appearance. We do, however, get a few seconds of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” at the very end of the trailer from Timon & Pumbaa.
The Lion King hits screens on July 19
