The Invisible Man Makes Himself Seen With $1.65 Million In Thursday Night Previews

Universal Pictures’ & Blumhouse’s The Invisible Man debuted in Thursday night previews last night and the numbers suggest it’s in for a lucrative weekend.

The Invisible Man grossed $1.65 million in Thursday night previews from showtimes that began at 7:00 PM. The number is promising because it’s very similar to other Universal/Blumhouse collaborations that include. Get Out ($1.8 million Thursday) and Split ($2 million Thursday). Both films went on to surge over their $20 million+ tracking with Get Out opening to $33.3 million & Split coming in with $40 million. The Invisible Man also entered tracking with $20 million+ and I’m thinking it’s looking at a similar surge this weekend.

Exits and reviews have been quite good with  Invisible Man‘s Rotten Tomatoes score at 92% Certified Fresh being just under Get Out‘s 98% certified fresh, but much higher than Split‘s 77% certified fresh and Halloween‘s 79% certified fresh. The Rotten Tomatoes score is key because that’s what will bring in non-genre die-hards to buy tickets. PostTrak exits show the film getting 4 stars with a 53% definite recommend. Guys over 25 dominated at 47% last night, with 28% females over 25, 13% females under 25 and 12% under 25. The biggest quad was the 25-34 folks at 39%, with a diversity read of 49% Caucasian, 22% Hispanic, 13% Asian and 12% African American.
