Upon its release, The Hitman’s Bodyguard was a surprise hit starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson which spawned a sequel. As theaters continue to open across the country, the upcoming sequel, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard had its release day pushed.
Lionsgate has announced that they have pushed up the release date from August 20th to June 16th, two months from its previous date. Lionsgate’s president of Worldwide Distribution Ron Schwartz commented on the release of the film,
“This is the kind of summer action film that delivers even more comedy and more thrilling action than the first film – and it’s perfect for fans new to the franchise as well. The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is what summer moviegoing is all about – great, crowd-pleasing entertainment.”
