The Haunting Of Bly Manor (Teaser Trailer)

Netflix has unveiled its first teaser trailer for The Haunting of Bly Manor and with it comes a premiere date for the next chapter of The Haunting anthology series from The Haunting of Hill House creator Mike Flanagan and producer Trevor Macy.

The Haunting of Bly Manor will be available to Netflix members worldwide on October 9, 2020. Set in 1980s England, The Haunting of Bly Manor begins after an au pair’s tragic death, Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) hires a young American nanny (Victoria Pedretti) to care for his orphaned niece and nephew (Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) who reside at Bly Manor. They are joined there by the estate’s chef Owen (Rahul Kohli), groundskeeper Jamie (Amelia Eve), and housekeeper, Mrs. Grose (T’Nia Miller). But all is not as it seems at the manor, and centuries of dark secrets of love and loss are waiting to be unearthed in this gothic romance where death doesn’t mean you’re gone.

The Haunting of Bly Manor is loosely based on the 1898 horror novella “The Turn of the Screw” by Henry James. The creative team and many of the cast of Hill House are returning for Bly Manor but the narratives of the two series will not be connected. The first season, The Haunting of Hill House, received critical acclaim, particularly for the acting, directing, and production values. Many critics said the show as a truly “effective ghost story.” Hopefully, the second season lives up to the promise of the first.
