The Good Fight will live to fight another day. The CBS All Access drama has been renewed by the streaming service for a fourth season.
The news comes as the original series is midway through its third season. The spinoff of CBS’ The Good Wife has become a bit of flagship series for the streaming service along with Star Trek: Discovery. The season finale of the third season is scheduled for May 16 while a date and episode count for season 4 is still to be determined.
The series has garnered headlines for tackling real-world politics in heavy doses in its current season, with Diane (Christine Baranski) and Liz (Audra McDonald) joining the resistance to the Trump administration. The creators also said they had backup plans should real-world events, including the now unlikely event of a presidential impeachment, unfolded before the show finished its run. While some have criticized the show for taking sides in this political debate, it has also received praise for having the guts to do it as well.
The Good Fight is part of a CBS All Access lineup that also includes Star Trek: Discovery, The Twilight Zone, Strange Angel, Tell Me a Story, and No Activity. There are also more Star Trek properties on deck as well as the true-crime drama Interrogation, Marc Cherry’s dark comedy Why Women Kill and the Stephen King adaptation, The Stand.
