The Godfather is making its return on the small screen.
Paramount+, which is being rebranded from the now known CBS All Acces is set to release The Offer, a series based on the making on one of the greatest films of all time, The Godfather. The Offer is based on Oscar-winning producer Al Ruddy’s never-revealed experiences of making The Godfather. Ruddy was one of the key figures along with Francis Ford Coppola, Bob Evans and Mario Puzo behind the production.
The ten-part series, produced by Paramount Television Studios, is written by Michael Tolkin, who wrote the screenplay for Robert Altman’s 90’s classic, The Player.
Regarding the news and the rebrand, CEO Bob Bakish said in a statement,
“Paramount is an iconic and storied brand beloved by consumers all over the world, and it is synonymous with quality, integrity and world-class storytelling,”
“With Paramount+, we’re excited to establish one global streaming brand in the broad-pay segment that will draw on the sheer breadth and depth of the ViacomCBS portfolio to offer an extraordinary collection of content for everyone to enjoy.”
