A new Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot is on the way from producer Fede Alvarez. The upcoming remake has found its screenwriter in Chris Thomas Devlin. Previously, it had been reported Alvarez was planning to produce the next installment of the popular movie series as part of a deal with Legendary pictures. That news has now been confirmed as Alvarez and his writing partner Rodolfo Sayagues have reportedly closed an overall deal with the company to create, produce, and develop movies.
As of now there there aren’t many details about Bad Hombre’s vision for the next installment in the Leatherface franchise. There is no word if the film is set to serve as a sequel to any of the previous movies, or if it will be a complete reboot that starts the story over from scratch.
It would not be shocking if the new film is a complete reboot as the timeline of the movies in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise is rather messy as there have already been multiple reboots and re-imaginings existing in the movie series already.
