Netflix just released the first teaser trailer for Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman. The highly anticipated film stars Robert De Niro as Frank Sheeran, a World War II veteran who became a mob hitman and played a role in Jimmy Hoffa’s disappearance. Al Pacino will star as Hoffa himself and the supporting cast includes Harvey Keitel, Ray Romano, Bobby Cannavale, and Anna Paquin. As previously reported, The Irishman will have its world premiere as the opening night selection at the 2019 New York Film Festival.
The Irishman is one of Netflix’s major Oscar hopefuls this awards season along with Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story. Netflix will release The Irishman in select theaters and on its streaming platform this fall. No set date has been revealed yet.
