Special Effects Legend John Carl Buechler Passes Away At 66

Sad news coming out of the horror world this morning. Special effects legend John Carl Buechler has passed away at the age of 66 after a long battle with cancer.

Buechler is best known for his work on films such as Re-Animator, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Ghoulies, and From Beyond, not to mention being the director of Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, which introduced fans to Kane Hodder’s Jason Voorhees.

I’ve seen Buechler on various documentaries & he always seemed like a very nice guy & was also a maestro in his profession. Thoughts & prayers go out to his family & friends as they mourn his passing. R.I.P.
