Pixar has released the a new trailer for their upcoming release Soul & it follows characters voiced by Jamie Foxx & Tina Fey on a journey of discovery.
Directed by Pete Docter, who made us cry with Up & made us realize we’re all a little crazy with Inside Out, the film will be Pixar’s second original offering this year following the release of Onward just last week. Jamie Foxx voices Joe Gardner, a music teacher who finds himself in the mysterious soul world (dubbed The Great Before) after falling down a New York manhole. Joe is then paired with a soul named 22 (Tina Fey), who is content to be remembered for her silly cowboy dance. The mismatched duo will have to work together to help Joe’s soul get back to Earth and, of course, learn some important lessons along the way for the kids out there watching.
Pixar released the first teaser trailer for Soul last fall which set up the basic premise but this more full look gives you more of what we have come to love from Pixar and that’s a mix of laughs and heart. I’m sure this will be another one of their efforts that will engage critics and moviegoers alike.
Soul hits screens on June 19, 2020.
