We have the first official trailer for Sonic The Hedgehog and it’s certainly…something.
The title character, voiced by Ben Schwartz, shows off his moves as he goes up against the nefarious Dr. Robotnik, portrayed with pure video game villainy by Jim Carrey. James Marsden’s human character Tom Wachowski, a new creation for the film, is also introduced and Tika Sumpter co-stars.
The trailer is getting roasted online and definitely isn’t getting the same surprised this looks good reaction that Detective Pikachu has gotten but I guess we have to wait and see how this turns out. Also, why are they using Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” in the trailer? Maybe appealing to kids of the 90s who used to this game? I’m perplexed.
