A new fantasy adventure featuring Sinbad the Sailor is coming soon from Studio 8 and Game of Thrones‘ director Miguel Sapochnik. Studio 8 said in a statement,
“Sinbad was a rare comprehensive and engaging pitch which lends itself to an international audience and big visual set pieces but also distinct and unique actor roles for a diverse cast of characters. This project is part of Studio 8’s ongoing commitment to working closely with filmmakers on the re-imagination of genres.”
The script will be written by Kyle Killen (Lone Star, Mind Games) with Sapochnik directing the adaptation of Sinbad, the wily sailor who finds himself stranded on various islands or lands at different points in time. After each debacle, he always returns back to his native Baghdad a wealthy man.
