Sigourney Weaver Talks About Her Role In Marvel’s The Defenders

When going to a Marvel panel at New York Comic Con, one knows to expect the unexpected. Attending this years Iron Fist panel, we are all treated to the news that the great Sigourney Weaver is joining the Marvel family. Weaver will play the villain in the upcoming Netflix original series The Defenders.

What does she think about the project?

Weaver stated

“Meanwhile, I am doing The Defenders, which is a lot of fun,” she said. “It has a wonderful cast, and we’re doing it right here in New York, which means a lot to me.”

“Basically the four heroes come up against this really nice woman, who I’m playing,” she joked, calling Marvel’s Netflix shows a love letter to New York City. “To me they’re not superheroes; they’re people with a gift. It’s just a different scale, and I’m really enjoying the scale of it. The apocalyptic thing is a little harder for me to understand.”
