USA Network has picked up Shooter for a second season.
The drama, which is based on Mark Wahlberg’s 2007 film of the same name, stars Ryan Phillippe as Bob Lee Swagger, a highly decorated veteran who is coaxed back into action to prevent a plot to kill the president. When Swagger’s former commanding officer, Isaac Johnson, played by Omar Epps, solicits his expertise for a clandestine operation, Swagger discovers that he has been framed and must do everything in his power to protect his family and clear his name.
Shooter is averaging a 0.5 in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, with an average audience of 1.41 million viewers an episode, in Nielsen’s Live+Same Day ratings. That increases to a 0.8 in the demo and 2.6 million once viewing in seven days is counted.
