Scream 5 Officially Happening With Ready Or Not Filmmakers Attached To Direct

I adore the Scream franchise but I accepted it all wrapped up with Scream 4 & was ready to let it go. There have been a lot of rumors of a Scream 5 but it’s not something I’ve really wanted until I got this bit of news: Scream 5 is officially happening & the filmmakers from one of my favorite films last year, Ready Or Not, are attached to direct.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are two of the directors that comprise 2/3s of the filmmaking collective Radio Silence. This is the same group that directed the “10/31/98” segment of V/H/S, as well as the “Way Out” and “Way In” segments of  Southbound. The other member of Radio Silence is Chad Villella, who is on board to executive produce the new Scream alongside Kevin Williamson, who has been involved on some level with all four of the previous films.

We don’t know much more about the film except that it will follow a woman returning to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes. We don’t know if they will bring any of the original cast back or if it’s a brand new story with a fresh new cast but having these guys behind the camera has me excited for it.
