SAG Awards: The Complete Winners List

It was a night of actors celebrating actors at the 26th Annual SAG Awards and while award season favorites continued their winning streak, the show offered up one big history-making surprise.

Let’s start with Bong Joon-Ho’s Parasite which made history last night as it became the first foreign-language film to take home the Outstanding Cast award from SAG. Parasite is only the second foreign-language film to be nominated for the award (Roberto Begnini’s Life Is Beautiful was the first 21 years ago). The cast received a huge standing ovation when they presented the film and even bigger response when they actually won so the love for Parasite was alive and well in the room at the SAG Awards.

Joaquin Phoenix, Renee Zellweger, Laura Dern and Brad Pitt continued their winning streaks in their respective categories for Joker, Judy, Marriage Story and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Barring any hiccups with Academy voters, I think we’re already looking at our Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Supporting Actor winners at the Oscars.

SAG also celebrates television and it was a big night for Amazon, which swept the first three awards of the night, with The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel taking the Comedy Series Ensemble trophy for the second year in a row, and Tony Shalhoub winning for Comedy Actor. Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge continued her awards-season dominance with a win for Comedy Actress. Amazon led all TV nominees with four going into the night.

FX’s Fosse/Verdon pulled off a pair of wins, with stars Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams taking their respective Television Movie or Limited Series categories. Williams has been taking home trophies for her turn in this limited series while Rockwell has been nominated but coming up empty-handed. Last night’s win allows him to share the shine with his co-star a bit.

Netflix’s The Crown took the TV Drama Ensemble prize after NBC’s This Is Us won it last year. As for individual wins in the drama categories, Peter Dinklage wrapped his run on HBO’s Game of Thrones with a Leading Actor in a Drama win — his first after six nominations in the category — and Jennifer Aniston won her first solo SAG Award (she has taken ensemble with the cast of Friends) and the first one for an Apple TV+ show with the Female Actor win for The Morning Show.

At the age of five, I knew I wanted to write movies and about them. I've set out to make those dreams come true. As an alumni of the Los Angeles Film Academy, I participated in their Screenwriting program, while building up my expertise in film criticism. I write reviews that relate to the average moviegoer by educating my readers and keeping it fun. My job is to let you know the good, the bad, and the ugly in the world of cinema, so you can have your best moviegoing experience. You can find more of my writing on Instagram @g_reelz.
