Russell Hornsby Joins Creed Sequel

While little is known about the upcoming Creed sequel outside of Drago’s son Vs Creed, it has not stopped the film from creating anticipation from fans of the Rocky franchise. As the films continues its production, a new casting for the film has been announced. Fences star Russell Hornsby has joined Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone in MGM-Warner Bros. Creed II which began filming on Monday.

The film is the continuation of the Rocky franchise and the sequel to 2015’s Ryan Coogler’s  Creed,  which took in more than $170 million at the worldwide box office and became one of the best reviewed films of the year. The new film is being directed by Steven Caple Jr., from an original screenplay written by Stallone based on characters from the franchise.

No word on when the film will be released, however, there is a good chance that the film will be released towards the end of 2018 to an early 2019 release. No word on who Hornsby will be playing.
