Ruby Rose Cast as Batwoman

In what is considered Tuesday’s biggest news item, the CW has found their Batwoman.

Ruby Rose has landed the role to play the lesbian superhero, who will make her debut in a December DC crossover event. The end game to that crossover is Greg Berlanti’s plan to create a stand-alone series revolving around the character.

If the series is green-lit, Batwoman would revolve around Kate Kane, who patrols the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, a proud lesbian and highly trained fighter, who at the same time as she battles the criminals of Gotham battles her own personal demons.

The casting of Rose brings the CW’s original goal to cast an openly gay actress to take on the role. Rose will first be seen in the cowl this upcoming TV season.
