Rogue One Crosses $800 Million Globally

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is proving it doesn’t need a lot of recognizable names from the franchise to be a hit. The Star Wars prequel has crossed the $800 million mark at the global box office.

With a total $801.9M through Monday, the Gareth Edwards-helmed spinoff occupies the No. 7 worldwide spot among films released in 2016. The international total is $361M with $440.9M domestic.

The film is still set to be released in China and while box office has slowed a bit there, it should still be a huge market for the movie and I suspect that there is more money to be made here.
